Selection of Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning

Dr. Midge Connolly, Superintendent, is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. James “Kimo” Carter as the new Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning beginning July 1, 2018.

Dr. Carter has been the Principal of Watertown Middle School since 2005.  Prior to that, he was the Assistant Principal of Hawthorne Brook Middle School in Townsend MA and a social studies teacher in Billerica.  Dr. Carter earned his Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University, Master of Arts in Teaching Degree in History and Education from Boston College, a a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Harvard University, and an Ed.D in Educational Administration from Boston College.

Much appreciation to all who helped during the search process by serving on the interview committee, meeting with the finalists, attending forums, and providing feedback.

Please join me in welcoming Dr. Kimo Carter to the Weston Public Schools.

The Weston School Committee will vote later in May to approve the appointment of Dr. Carter as Assistant Superintendent.
