Superintendent’s Update re COVID-19 (Monday, March 9, 2020)
March 9, 2020
Dear Weston Community,
Many of you have called and sent emails expressing concern regarding schools being open. I appreciate and understand your concerns. We must and will continue to follow the guidance of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH), state and local Departments of Public Health, as well as follow the daily updates and recommendations provided by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. To date they have not recommended that we close our schools and therefore they will remain open until we are directed to do otherwise.
I have also been asked by some about bus sanitation. The buses that the Middle School student rode were sanitized on Monday morning before picking up any students. Beginning this afternoon and going forward all buses will be sanitized after morning and afternoon routes are completed.
I again ask that if your child is not feeling well please keep them home. Thank you for your communications and I will continue to keep you updated.
Sincerely,
Dr. Midge Connolly
Superintendent
