Woodland Principal Search (Survey and Forums)

Dear Woodland School and WPS community,

We are very excited to begin the process of hiring a new principal for Woodland School. We will be doing a full search but given the timing it will be done on a truncated timeline with the goal being to have somebody in place before the end of the school year. 

As you may know the Woodland School Principal job opening was posted over a week ago now. Click here to take a brief survey on what you are looking for in the next WS Principal. Please submit responses by Monday, May 16. In the meantime, the central office team will continue reviewing many applicants’ resumes,  and we plan to have identified ~6 potential finalists by the end of day Monday. 

A hiring committee will interview finalists all day Wednesday, May 18th before narrowing down further to a few top candidates. Top candidates will then be invited to visit the schools in the  afternoons and then attend open forums on the evenings of May 26 and June 2. At the forums each finalist will discuss their candidacy with administration, parents/families, employees, and other interested community members. Forums will be held in person with live stream options. 

  • Family Forum, Thursday, May 26, (5:30-6:15 and 6:15-7:00 pm) at the Woodland School Library and on Zoom 
  • Family Forum, Thursday, June 2, (5:30-6:15) at the Woodland School library and on Zoom

After sufficient reference checks have been conducted and an offer has been made and accepted–most likely in early June–then we will announce the selection of the new Woodland Principal, who will officially start on July 1, 2022. In the unlikely event that we are not able to hire someone this June, then we might consider hiring a one-year interim principal, just for the next school year.
