Welcome Back from Superintendent Zaleski

Dear Weston School Community,

Welcome back to another amazing school year! I hope your summer was filled with fun, relaxation, and time spent with family and friends. As we prepare for a new school year, I am excited to reconnect with every one of you and continue our journey of excellence and opportunities for all.

This summer, in addition to vacationing with my family, I had the opportunity to work with administrators to develop district strategic actions based on last year’s entry findings of the district. Your input was invaluable to this process, and I truly appreciate it. These actions are driving our initiatives district-wide, and our goal is to focus on them and do them well to support all students in succeeding.

Members of our custodial, grounds, and food services staff worked hard this summer to ensure our buildings and campuses are welcoming, safe, and inviting and that all children receive two meals a day while in school. Many of our dedicated staff and administrators also worked hard this summer to support students and prepare for the start of the year.

Below is a fun picture of our Extended School Year program ( ESY ) run by Emily Tucker in Student Services. Thank you, Emily, for providing students with opportunities for inclusive experiences and a range of activities this summer!

I am also excited to welcome and congratulate several new and returning administrative staff for their new positions within the District:

  • Dr. Neil Trahan, Director of Technology, Data, and Innovation
  • Deb Moriarty, Supervisor of Elementary Curriculum, Instruction, & Assessment
  • Sue Bairstow, High School Principal
  • Todd Whitten, High School Assistant Principal
  • Lindsay Quezada, Field School Principal

I look forward to partnering with you for another successful school year and to welcoming everyone back, including new students, staff, and administrators. For those of you on Instagram, I will be taking over the District’s account this year and would encourage you to follow the page. There, I will be celebrating excellent teaching and learning, events, and successes throughout the year.

Our collective commitment to pursuing excellence in every area for all students will continue to be the cornerstone of our success.

All My Best,

Dr. Karen Zaleski
