Inclement Weather Procedures

Dear Weston School Community,

With the forecast predicting potential snowfall, I wanted to send a brief note with a reminder about WPS’s inclement weather procedures.

In the event there is inclement weather that will not affect the day’s schedule, no notice will be sent to the community.  In these circumstances, I will have confirmed with various stakeholders on the town side that the roads are safe for travel.  If students from Boston are delayed in coming to school as a result of the road conditions, reasonable leeway will be provided.

If the weather and road conditions allow for school to be in session with a delay, or school needs to be cancelled as a result of the inclement weather, my goal will be to make and communicate a decision by 5:00 AM (and, if possible, the evening before). That communication will come via an automated phone call, an email, and a text message. In addition, we will also post the decision on a variety of local TV stations.

I am tracking the storm that should arrive sometime tonight or early tomorrow morning and the current forecast is calling for mostly rain, with the possibility of minor snow accumulations.  At this time, I do not anticipate any changes to tomorrow’s schedule; however, I will be certain to let you know if there is a delay or cancellation.

All my best,

Dr. Karen Zaleski
