Letter From Principal Maguire

Dear Country School Families,

I am excited to share that the WPS School Committee and Dr. Connolly announced at last night’s School Committee meeting that all hybrid students will be starting “all in” next Tuesday, October 20th. Once the new model starts, current hybrid students will come in every school day (Monday-Friday) from 8:00 AM-12:00 PM. Remote Learning Academy students will continue with their existing schedule. On Monday, October 19th, students will NOT come to school in person, giving teachers the opportunity to set up their classrooms for our larger cohorts on Tuesday and beyond. Students will start with a live morning meeting and then have asynchronous work for the remainder of the day. We are thrilled that we will be combining our A and B groups starting next week!

Also on Tuesday, October 20th, we invite all Preschool through Third grade families to our first virtual Back to School Night!  As with everything in 2020, things are a bit different!  This year, we are excited to spend the evening with families and share grade level curriculum, as well as, specific information about this school year virtually. The schedule for the evening is posted in the table below for your convenience. Please note that we have included visit times for the Art, Music, PE and Spanish specials teachers so that they can provide helpful tips and support families with at home learning. The Zoom links and a message from me will be shared on Tuesday afternoon.

Back To School Night Schedule:

6:00-6:30pm	Grade 2 and Grade 3 classroom visits
6:30-6:45pm	Grade K, 1, specials teacher (Art, Music, PE, Spanish) visits
6:45-7:00pm	Grade 2, 3 specials teacher  (Art, Music, PE, Spanish) visits
6:45-7:15pm	Preschool, Kindergarten and Grade 1 classroom visits
