CS PTO Update

Dear Country School Families,

We hope you all had a great summer and are excited for the 2021-22 school year!  As the PTO Co-Chairs for Country, we wanted to welcome you and update you on some helpful back-to-school information.

Health Form:

Don’t forget to complete this student health form linked here and return it via email to Nurse Janet Weinstein at weinsteinj@weston.org or print and return it on the first day of school.

Communications Waiver Form:

New this year.  Due to privacy laws, we cannot distribute any personal information about you or your child without your consent. This year, parents are asked to sign a communications waiver to allow their email address to be included on the classroom contact list. As in years past, the contact lists are distributed to the other families in each class. Room parents will also use the master class list to send classroom communications, volunteer requests, classroom supply requests etc. We need your consent to include your personal contact information. If you do not wish to share your information, there is a place to note that on the form.  Room Parents will send the form when they reach out at the beginning of September.  Thank you in advance for helping us by filling out the form once you receive it!

Room Parents:

We are in the process of assigning two room parents for each class. Room parents will be reaching out to you to build a class list and introduce themselves in the coming weeks. If you are interested in volunteering as a room parent this year, please contact us; we have a few classes that need volunteers.

  • Two room parents are needed per classroom. Duties and time commitment vary by classroom, but potential responsibilities include sending PTO and class-related emails to parents, requesting classroom volunteers and donations, coordinating teacher gifts, and creating a class contact list at the beginning of the year. All room parents must be current PTO members.

Class Assignments:

By now, you should have received your child’s classroom assignment that was emailed last Friday and is also available in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.  Teachers will reach out with specific classroom information, including supply lists, visiting day information, and other details.

Yoga Mats:

Like last year, Country School asks that each child bring a yoga/exercise mat to school labeled with the child’s name.  The yoga mats will be used so that students may sit outside whenever possible while also maintaining a safe distance.  A yoga mat is also helpful as it is a surface that can be easily wiped down after use.  If you need any assistance finding a mat for your child, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can help.  In addition, if you have any mats that you are willing to donate, please let us know that as well.

Car Pickup Placards:

If your family needs a Car Pickup Placard, please let your classroom teacher know on your visiting day or let them know via email that you need one. If your child is taking the bus, your family will NOT need a placard.  Arrival and Dismissal details can be found in Principal Maguire’s attached PDF.
