Elections will run from October 12-15, and we will send candidate statements with a link to vote in early October.

5. Weston Welcome Ambassadors – SIGN-UP

The PTO has a new program. When your family first started in the Weston Public Schools, did you wish you could reach out to a current parent to ask your big and small school-related questions, get advice on where to find specific activities for your kids, or how to get involved in the schools and/or town? If you would like to help welcome a new family to WPS, please consider becoming a Weston Welcome Ambassador. It is fun, impactful, and strengthens our wonderful community! If interested, please email Kirstin Schena (kirstin_gollop@hotmail.com) and Erika McAuliffe (erikam.mcauliffe@gmail.com).

Similarly, if you are new to the Weston Public Schools and would like to be connected with a current WPS family with similarly aged children who can help you with your big and small questions about school, after school activities, and anything in-between, please email Kirstin Schena (kirstin_gollop@hotmail.com) and Erika McAuliffe (erikam.mcauliffe@gmail.com). They will pair you with a Weston Welcome Ambassador. For those in the METCO program who are new to the Weston Public Schools, this program is in addition to the Family Friends program, so please reach out to Kirstin and Erika. They will connect you with both a Weston-based family and a Boston-based family.

6. WEEFC’s Principal for a Day

Enter your Country student for a chance to be PRINCIPAL FOR A DAY! Click here through 10/15 to buy 2 chances for $10, 5 for $20, or 15 for $50. One winner per elementary school will be drawn in mid-October, and all funds collected will be used to support enrichment programs in our schools. All elementary students are welcome to participate, regardless of their ability to donate. Please email weefc02493@gmail.com for financial assistance.

7. Weston METCO Fruit Fundraiser

The Weston METCO Fruit Sale Fundraiser is back! 100% of the proceeds raised go to help support Weston High School METCO Student Activities. Just click here or the link below to log on to our group fruit sale website. We will begin accepting orders on October 4th, 2021. If you would like to pay by cash or check, please contact Maureen Cabral at 781-786-5850 or CabralM@weston.org.

8. Covid-19 Testing Program Information & Registration

Let’s help keep Country School safe! Please take a moment to complete BOTH one-time registrations.

If you have not already registered your student(s) for testing through Project Beacon, please click here to do so now. You will need to create an account, and if you already have an account, you will still need to set up a profile for each student. After you sign up and log in for Country School, please use the code CASPCR.

Pooled Testing through CIC will begin in the coming weeks and continue throughout the year, so please also be sure to follow these directions to register your student(s) with CIC.

Registration is quick and easy, as is the testing itself. The weekly test only takes less than a minute out of your child’s day, and kids who participated last year enjoyed it! Questions? Contact gaynorj@weston.org.

9. Seeking PTO Creative Arts Committee Volunteers!

Weston PTO is looking for new members to join the Creative Arts Committee. We bring professional performing artists and authors to the students of Weston.  Programs are funded through the generosity of WEEFC and the Weston PTO.  Members collaborate with teachers and administrators to select performing artists and authors that support and enhance curriculum, as well as provide enriching art experiences.

There are different levels of engagement, and volunteers should expect to commit between 2-5 hours per month as a committee member. Responsibilities include attending monthly meetings to share ideas and resources, attending previews of performers at local schools and showcases, and acting as liaison to Weston schools to book artists.

Please contact Heidi Estrada (heidifestrada@gmail.com) for more information.

10. Please Join the Weston PTO

Please consider joining the Weston PTO or renewing your membership for the 2021-2022 school year if you haven’t already!

PTO members receive exclusive access to a mobile directory app and a weekly email newsletter with school updates and community events. PTO enriches our students, connects parents, and creates a community. Volunteering is not required, but much needed and appreciated!
