Country School PTO Announcements for the week of November 22 – November 26, 2021

1. Lost & Found Update

Thank you to those who have contacted us about items and who came to get them on Wednesday.  You can also reach out to your teacher to have your child retrieve items at school.  In the spirit of the holiday season, we plan to donate the unclaimed items to children in need, more info on that in the coming weeks.

2. Upcoming Dates

  • Wednesday, November 24th: Early Release for all of CS at 11am for Thanksgiving Break

  • Thursday, November 25 & Friday, November 26: NO SCHOOL, Thanksgiving Break

  • Wednesday, December 1st: 11:30 dismissal for WPS

  • Monday, December 13th: 2:45pm Country School Council Meeting (Zoom)

3. Openings at CS – Lunch Monitors and substitutes needed!

As we approach the holiday season, all local school districts including our own are facing staff shortages in key support roles. Weston needs lunch monitors and daily substitute teachers. To ensure immediate coverage, our three Elementary Schools are inviting families to help fill the gaps and serve as short-term part-time lunch monitors and daily classroom substitutes.

If you are interested and available or know someone who is, please review each of the job descriptions linked above and consider reaching out to Marcia Cormay in the WPS Human Resources Office (CormayM@weston.org or call 781-786-5261) for more information about the different opportunities and how to apply.

4. PTO Thanksgiving Drive For Bristol Lodge & Homeless Shelter – FINAL WEEK

Final week to bring in donations!

Suggested items to donate include canned goods, pasta, boxed juices, cereals, kids’ snacks, condiments, baby food, dried beans and rice.  Pull top-lids are preferred, and all items must be non-expired. In addition, given COVID, we are offering the option to donate a grocery store gift card (suggested stores are Stop & Shop, Star Market and Market Basket).  Please send grocery gift cards to Theresa Nibi, 73 Chestnut Street, Weston, MA or email to theresanibi@gmail.com.  Venmo donations are also accepted at @Theresa-Nibi (5010 last four digits of phone #).  Please involve your students and give!
