[SURVEY] Science Dept. Program Review (K-12)
Dear Parents and Families,
The Weston Public Schools Science Department is currently conducting a program review. The point of a program review is to examine all aspects of departmental operations across the K-12 spectrum with the goal of improving outcomes for students. A program review consists of two phases – an internal review and an external review and are typically conducted every ten years.
The point of the internal review is to develop a complete picture of the state of our science programs, culminating with a presentation to the school committee. Subsequently, in the external review process a group of local leaders in science education will be invited to evaluate the program and provide feedback.
Critical to this endeavor is feedback from stakeholders, including parents. We have already begun to solicit input from students and teachers and we are now launching our effort to collect feedback from parents and families.
We invite you to complete the parent survey by Monday, February 28th. The survey is anonymous and we welcome all feedback. Please complete one survey for each school at which you have children enrolled. Remember that we are seeking feedback specific to your children’s experiences with science education in the district.
The links to the surveys are provided here.
