CS PTO Update

Hello Country School Families,

Hope you had a great weekend. We are really excited about Trunk-or-Treat on Friday. Please look for an email with more details tomorrow. We could use a few more volunteers for trunks. If you would like to be part of this fun tradition, please sign up.

Just a reminder, Wednesday will be an early release day for all K-5 students. Thursday will be our second curriculum forum and will be focusing on Science and Social Studies.

For more school updates, please subscribe to the Country School calendar and check out our school website. And don’t forget to follow CS on Instagram for general updates and photos!

Best regards, Jessie & Jess CS PTO Co-Chairs jessiegrasshoff@gmail.com jesstessa@gmail.com

Everyone’s favorite fundraiser has returned. 100% of the proceeds raised go to help support Weston High School METCO Student Activities. In the past we have been able to assist with field trip and AP exam fees as well as host special METCO student celebrations and community building events! We would love to expand our effort and include supporting our Global Student Travel Fund, which offers scholarships to assist METCO Students participation in educational travel opportunities. Your orders will help to make this possible!

For your convenience we are accepting orders online!  Just click the link below to log on to our group fruit sale website. We will begin accepting orders October 17, 2022. http://freshfruitorderorg/WestonMetcoFruit

The deadline for ordering fruit with a credit card online is 11/20/2022. If you would like to pay by cash or check, please contact Nancy Fournier at 781-786-5851 or  fourniern@weston.org Thank you for your support!

Friday, October 28 – 4:30-6:00 – Field School Parking Lot

After three years, we are thrilled to welcome back the Weston Elementary Trunk-or-Treat! This year’s Trunk-or-Treat will take place on Friday, October 28 from 4:30-6:00pm in the Field School Parking Lot. This event relies on the help of volunteers so we encourage you to sign up if you are able to do so! You can access the event sign-up here. We have also created a handy Reference Sheet with trunk decoration inspiration, game and activity ideas, and a list of allergy-safe treats.

You are invited to upcoming forums for families about each curriculum used in grades K-5. Goals of these forums include 1) sharing more details with you about each curriculum, and 2) hearing from you in person about each curriculum. These events are scheduled around the subject area rather than grade level or school. While forums will take place at each school, each elementary grade subject curriculum will be discussed grouped by topic, and families are welcome to attend multiple forums over the coming months.  You don’t need to sign up ahead of time to attend a curriculum forum. If you cannot attend the forums, please email questions for the forums in advance to Superintendent@weston.org. All forums will be live streamed via Zoom webinar and Zoom links will be shared closer to each event.

One of our school district’s projects each year has been to collect money on Halloween for UNICEF.  Like last year, UNICEF is not providing the orange collection boxes for children to take door-to-door .  However, Weston students can still Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF!  Donations can be made quickly and easily by clicking here to contribute to our Weston Elementary Schools fundraising page.  Your donation will help UNICEF deliver health care and immunizations, safe water and sanitation, nutrition, education and emergency relief to millions of children around the world.  Please reach out to Stacy Gilman at stacysimon21@gmail.com with any questions.

BWMPO Fall Fundraiser. BWMPO is excited to launch our fall fundraiser for the John Hudson Memorial Scholarship fund with My Grandma’s Coffee Cakes. These cakes are guaranteed to be a hit on any occasion. There are four flavors available and we will have a pickup location in Weston and one in Boston for your convenience on November 19th, just in time for the holidays. Don’t delay; order your cakes today! Please contact Keitrice Johnson with any questions and submit your order here.
