ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SAFETY FORUM

Friday, November 18 | 8:30 – 9:30 Woodland School

You are invited to a school safety forum to learn more about A.L.I.C.E protocol. We will NOT be doing drills in our elementary schools. However, we are introducing our students to  Stay Safe Choices from the Safe and Sound Schools curriculum. The lessons from this curriculum will ensure that students and staff will know and use the same language and procedures if ever needed. Again, we hope to never need to use these protocols, but we will be prepared. Thank you, we look forward to seeing you next week, or please feel free to use this  Zoom link if you are unable to attend in person.

COUNTRY SCHOOL GEAR

Our Fall gear sale is here!! We love seeing everyone wearing their Country School pride around town and now it’s time to get more. We have some great new items to choose from. Click here to see our new gear and be sure to stock up and show your Country Pride!! Orders must be placed by November 15th.

CS LUNCH MONITOR SIGN-UP

Country School needs lunch monitors!! We are now looking for parent volunteers. We have added more slots for November and December. If you would like to volunteer, please fill out this sign up. Monitors are needed daily from 11:15-1. Please take as many slots as possible. How fun to get to see your kids in action at school!!

Bristol Lodge Annual Food Drive  (November 1 – November 23)

Please support the Weston PTO and elementary schools’ annual drive for Waltham’s Bristol Lodge Food Pantry and Homeless Shelters. The drive will run from November 1 to November 23.  Children can bring non-perishable donations to the designated collection bins at Country. The goal is to collect at least 2,000 items from each elementary school!  Suggested items to donate include canned goods, pasta, boxed juices, cereals, kids’ snacks, condiments, baby food, dried beans and rice.  Pull top-lids are preferred, and all items must be non-expired.

In addition, we are offering the option to donate a grocery store gift card (suggested stores are Stop & Shop, Star Market and Market Basket).  Please send grocery gift cards to Stacy Gilman, 26 Candleberry Lane, Weston, MA or email to stacysimon21@gmail.com.  Venmo donations are also accepted at @Michelle-Raymond-58  (7316 last four digits of phone #).  Please involve your students and give!

**The CS 2nd graders help oversee the collection of the items. During the next few weeks, they will make use of their data collection and graphing skills as the goods begin to pile up. On Wednesday, November 23rd, the collection will be sent off to Bristol Lodge. This drive always strengthens our community by bringing us together for a common good. Be on the lookout for lots of reminders and communications as we collect items over the next few weeks.**

WESTON METCO FRUIT SALE

Everyone’s favorite fundraiser has returned. 100% of the proceeds raised go to help support Weston High School METCO Student Activities. In the past we have been able to assist with field trip and AP exam fees as well as host special METCO student celebrations and community building events! We would love to expand our effort and include supporting our Global Student Travel Fund, which offers scholarships to assist METCO Students participation in educational travel opportunities. Your orders will help to make this possible!

For your convenience we are accepting orders online!  Just click the link below to log on to our group fruit sale website. http://freshfruitorderorg/WestonMetcoFruit

The deadline for ordering fruit with a credit card online is 11/20/2022. If you would like to pay by cash or check, please contact Nancy Fournier at 781-786-5851 or  fourniern@weston.org

Thank you for your support!

DISTRICT CURRICULUM FORUMS

You are invited to upcoming forums for families about each curriculum used in grades K-5. Goals of these forums include 1) sharing more details with you about each curriculum, and 2) hearing from you in person about each curriculum.

These events are scheduled around the subject area rather than grade level or school. While forums will take place at each school, each elementary grade subject curriculum will be discussed grouped by topic, and families are welcome to attend multiple forums over the coming months.

You don’t need to sign up ahead of time to attend a curriculum forum. If you cannot attend the forums, please email questions for the forums in advance to Superintendent@weston.org. All forums will be live streamed via Zoom webinar and Zoom links will be shared closer to each event.
