Elementary Schools Global Diversity Fair – Event Information & Seeking Volunteers

Dear Field, Country, and Woodland School Communities,

The 5th annual Elementary Global Diversity Fair is back this year after a three-year hiatus and we are seeking volunteers to help make this event a success for all members of our community!  Mark your calendars, the event will take place on Thursday, January 26th, 2023, from 5-7pm at Field School. We have translated this message to Spanish and Mandarin using Google translate, please reach out to us for help translating this message and future communications.

The Global Diversity Fair will feature booths and performances that represent a culture, country or region. This event relies on the diverse experiences and backgrounds of our WPS community, and the booths are the heart of our Global Diversity Fair!  We are seeking members of the Field, Country and Woodland School communities to volunteer to host booths and/or perform or coordinate a performance. Feel free to partner with other members of the various school communities with whom you share a culture to host a booth together.

Curious about the event or hosting a booth and want to learn more? Event organizers will host an informational zoom to help guide families in the process of hosting booths and performances. Join us on Monday, December 12 at 8:30am  to learn more about volunteering at the event or to share your plans for your booth/performance to help inspire others. You can click the following link to add the Zoom meeting to your calendar:  Volunteer Zoom on 12/12

We are excited to announce that Catalina Salebe (Ocampo) will chair the Global Diversity Fair this year. Catalina is currently a FS parent and helped create this event at Country School in 2017. We are fortunate to have her knowledge and experience as we bring our elementary community together for the return of this important event.

This event will be free and open to all Field, Country, and Woodland School community members. We encourage everyone to come support and enjoy this fantastic Weston elementary community event. Please check out the attached photos from past Global Diversity Fairs for inspiration.

Please reach out to your school PTO co-chairs and Catalina Salebe, at cataocamposalebe@gmail.com with questions.
