CS PTO Update

Hello, Country School Families,

We hope everyone had a wonderful April Vacation. Believe it or not, there are only 8 weeks left of this school year. Things are going to start moving very fast and we have a lot packed into these next few weeks.

We have updated the important dates list, so please mark your calendar for all the fun events we have planned.

The Weston Town Meeting is coming up on May 8. We hope everyone plans to attend. The School Budget will be voted on and it is important to have participation from parents. The High School Student Council will be providing child care to make your attendance easier. Please see below for more details.

Please see below for this week’s updates. You will find information about our upcoming parent’s night out and Teacher Appreciation Week.

For more school updates, please subscribe to the Country School calendar and check out our school website. And don’t forget to follow CS on Instagram for general updates and photos!

WHS Student Council is excited to offer a Kids Night Out to support attendance to the annual Weston Town Meeting on Monday, May 8. Children, ages pre-K to grade 5, will be supervised by WHS student volunteers from 6-9:30pm at multiple school locations so parents/residents can attend and participate in Town Meeting. Children will be separated by age (pre-K-K, grade 1-3, grade 4-5) and will be engaged in games, sports, crafts and entertainment. Light snacks and water will be provided.

Space is limited and a signed waiver and prepayment is required by April 30 (late registration accepted until May 5, 2023). NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER MAY 5, 2023. Proceeds from this endeavor will support students’ fundraising efforts and grade events.

Early Registration & Payment received by April 30:
$20.00 per child / $10.00 for each additional sibling / $40.00 family max

Late Registration & Payment received between May 1-5:
$30.00 per child / $15.00 for each additional sibling / $60.00 family max

Please contact Eunice Feller, Student Council faculty advisor, or Henry Moon, WHS Instructional Coach, with any questions.

Teacher Appreciation Week is next week and the PTO has many great things planned to show our appreciation for our amazing teachers. If you would like to contribute, please consider purchasing items from our Amazon Wishlist to restock the staff lounge. We would also happily take any monetary donations to offset the cost of the staff lunch on Friday. Please feel free to Venmo @jessica-grasshoff and write in “teacher appreciation.”

Book your babysitter and join other Country School parents for a night out at Heirloom. Thursday, May 25, 6:30-9:30. Tickets are $45 per person and cover heavy appetizers. BYOB. Please see the invitation for more information and to RSVP. Hope to see you there!

National Teacher Appreciation Week (May 8-12) is the perfect time to acknowledge a special teacher, aide, or staff member who’s made a difference in your student’s life! Make a donation  of your choosing to WEEFC, fill out the Star Award Purchase Form to designate your recipients, and we will create and send a personalized e-certificate. Submissions made through April 26 will be delivered during Teacher Appreciation Week.

Parent volunteers have been doing an incredible job as lunch monitors. Thank you! We have added more slots for April and May. If you would like to volunteer, please sign up. Monitors are needed daily from 11:15-1. Please take as many slots as possible. How fun to get to see your kids in action at school!
