The Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning provides overall direction in the areas of curriculum and instruction. That includes but is not limited to curriculum oversight, professional development, data analysis, grant management, and evaluations, as well as support and guidance for school-based administrators.

Todd Whitten, Assistant Superintendent for Teaching & Learning

Todd Whitten comes to Weston’s Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning with a professional background in both independent and public schools. He has, at various times in his 30 year career in education, been a college counselor, a grade dean, a Department Chair, a Dean of Faculty, a Director of Pathways to China, and an Assistant Principal of Weston High School. Todd did his undergraduate study at Connecticut College in International Relations, and has graduate degrees from both Boston College and Fitchburg State College. Todd’s work emphasizes equity, interdisciplinary learning, data-informed decision-making, and fostering student and community engagement through innovative initiatives and programming. A lifelong New Englander, Todd is a die-hard Celtics and Red Sox fan, a habitual reader, a musician, a parent to now-adult children, and has two cats and a dog.
