FS PTO Update

Dear Field School Families,

It has been a great year, and we hope you will consider renewing your PTO membership if you haven’t already.

If you are the parent/caregiver of a fourth grade student and have volunteered to help with Field Day this week, please be on the lookout for a separate email from us tomorrow (Monday) with instructions for the day.

If you are the parent/caregiver of a fifth grade student, please be on the lookout for an email with Celebration Day details from us early this week.

We have included this week’s announcements (in bold below), along with the remaining important dates and a few reminders:

  1. Spirit Week – This Week
  2. Fifth Grade Yearbooks – Last Chance to Order for Your Teacher and/or Learning Assistant!
  3. Important Dates
  4. Weston Council on Aging (COA) – Food Pantry Drive Happening Now
  5. Fourth Grade Songs of America Concert
  6. WEEFC Fall Fundraiser – Save the Date

If you find yourself at Field School for fourth grade Field Day, the upcoming Songs of America concert, and/or fifth grade Celebration Day, we encourage you to look through the (incredibly well stocked) Lost and Found in the lobby. We love nothing more than a reunion story, but any items that have not been claimed by Thursday, June 15th will be donated.

Have a wonderful week, and please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions.

Laura Wilson & Taylor McIntire

Field School PTO Co-Chairs

1. It’s Spirit Week! The Field School Student Council is hosting Spirit Week this week, and your student can feel free to participate according to the following schedule of themes:

Monday: Dress like a teacher, or what you want to be when you grow up

Tuesday: Twinning Day

Wednesday: Dress up like a celebrity or character

Thursday: Beach Day (Bring your stuff in anything but a backpack!)

Friday: Pajama Day (Classes will get time to build a fort and play games!)

2. Fifth Grade Yearbooks – Last Chance to Order for Your  Teacher and/or Learning Assistant: We are offering a new opportunity this year to contribute to the cost of a yearbook for your classroom teacher and/or learning assistant(s), but the deadline is close! If you are interested in doing so, please contact Laura Wilson and Taylor McIntire, or reach out to your class Room Parents ASAP. Thank you for your support.

4. Weston Council on Aging (COA) Pantry Drive: The Weston PTO’s final Community Outreach event for the year benefits the Weston Council on Aging’s Pantry and is happening now through this Friday, June 9th.  Donations can be made by clicking on the Council on Aging’s amazon wish list here.  Items will be sent directly to the Council on Aging.  Please help support the senior members in our community who rely on the pantry. Please contact Stacy Simon Gilman or Michelle Raymond with any questions.

5. Fourth Grade Songs of America Concert: The fourth grade annual Songs of America Concert is next Wednesday, June 14 at 9:00 a.m. in the Field School Gym. All fourth grade parents/caregivers are invited to attend, and students should feel free to wear clothing/outfits that represent their culture, heritage, and/or identity. Please note that there are multiple elementary school events happening on Case Campus during that time so parking will be more challenging than usual. Please consider parking in the Country School lot, as well as up by the Rec Center and over at the library if you can’t find a space.

6. Save the Date for the WEEFC Fall Fundraiser – September 30! Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 30! The WEEFC Fall Fundraiser will be returning to the Field School field. There will be food trucks, great company, music, and an auction–all to benefit the Weston Public Schools. A ticket presale with early bird pricing will be coming in mid-August. Keep an eye on the WEEFC Instagram page for more information!
