The Weston High Theater Company, and its new drama director Anne Slotnick, begin the 2018-2019 season with Dark of the Moon, a dark folktale from the Appalachian region, by authors Howard Richardson and William Berney. The play takes place in a rural town in the Appalachian valley in 1930. It is the story of the beautiful Barbara Allen and the witch-boy, John, with whom she falls in love. The Witch culture and the Townsfolk culture are forever at odds, with a long history of deep seeded resentment and prejudice. The love between Barbara and John exasperates this, and though their love story thrives for a time, it ultimately ends in tragedy.
Please join the Weston High Theater Company for this powerful performance on Friday, November 16th at 7pm and Saturday, November 17th at 3pm and 7pm in the Weston High School Auditorium. General admission tickets ($8 for students/seniors/military and $10 for the general public) can be purchased at the door, during the high school lunches week of November 12th, or reserved by emailing whstcotix@gmail.com.
