Volunteer for WGBH Funfest 7/13/19
We encourage high school students to volunteer during this summer’s WGBH FunFest: A Day Of Ice Cream And Music 2019 – a family favorite – on Saturday, July 13 at WGBH Studios (One Guest Street in Brighton, MA). The event will feature all you can eat ice cream, moonbounces, activities for kids, face painting, carnival games and even your favorite PBS characters. There will even be live entertainment all day, hour to hour, on our entertainment stage!
Volunteer Needs:
The event runs from 10am-4pm and students have three volunteer shifts to choose from during this fun-filled community event. Volunteering at WGBH is a great way for Weston High students to earn community service credit and support their local public media station at the same time! Please have students review all the FunFest volunteer position descriptions listed below and email WGBH Volunteer Manager Jaime Reese at jaime_reese@wgbh.org if they are able to help. Students will be assigned to their role on a first-come first-served basis and should include the following information in their email response:
– Full name (first and last)
– Email address (for email reminder purposes only)
– Name of high school/grade level
– Preferred volunteer positions (top 3 in order of preference)
Date: SET-UP on Friday, July 12 from 2-7pm

Provide guests with game instructions; help manage line and distribute prizes.
Moonbounce Patrol (9:30am-1pm or 12:30-5pm)
Help maintain moonbounce order; group kids by age to ensure safety; manage line; and keep track of jump time to keep line moving.
Parking (9:30am-1pm)
Wave to traffic on One Guest Street; direct cars inside garage for event parking.
Water Cooler (9:30am-1pm or 12:30-5pm)
Refill water jugs; replenish cup supply; make sure guests know water is available – and stay hydrated!
This is going to be a fantastic event but volunteer support is crucial. Volunteers definitely help put the “fun” in FunFest year after year!
