Massachusetts Music Educators Association Junior District Festival Results
39 Weston Middle and High school students were selected to participate in the Eastern Massachusetts Jr. District Music Festival. The program is offered by the Massachusetts Music Educator’s Association as an enrichment opportunity providing a musical experience to talented young people. The students auditioned and were selected to perform in the Junior District Concert Band, Jazz Band, Orchestra, Mixed Chorus and Treble Chorus.
They will rehearse with guest conductors and then perform in a concert to be held at Lincoln-Sudbury High School in Sudbury, MA on Saturday, March 14, 2020.
Selected for Band are Grade 9 students Aidan Gu (Clarinet) and Nathaniel Gold (String Bass); Grade 7 students Jonathan Luu (Clarinet), Erin Huang (Flute), Chloe Zhong (Flute), William Kilgallen (Trombone), and William Connolly (Trumpet); and Grade 7 student Sarah Zhang (Flute). Selected for Jazz Band was Freshman Davis Palmer (Baritone Saxophone).
Selected for Orchestra were Grade 9 students Merrill Chiang (Cello); Mackenzie Morong (Viola), Chloe Szeto (Viola), Carolyn Choi (Violin), and Roy Huang (Violin); Grade 8 students Caleb Graupera (Cello), Eric Wei (Cello), Briar Sutherland-Dufour (French Horn), Max Ding, Emilio Tanzi, and Carsen Valenta (String Bass); Annabelle Nielson, Jessica Shen, and Owen Wang (Viola); Aurik Mah and Nadia Wilkins (Violin); and Grade 7 students Paul Shin (Bassoon), Andrew Kim (Cello), and Denali Enzmann (Snare Drum).
Selected for Mixed Chorus are Grade 9 students Trevor Gold, Henrik Stjernfeldt, and Sophia Desio; Grade 8 students Ava Tillman-Schwartz, and Brigid Arturi; and Grade 7 students Kylee Mejia and Alex Cross. Selected for Treble Chorus are Grade 8 students Jacqueline Stjernfeldt, Eliana Tilman-Schwartz, Skylar Brunk, and Elizabeth McNulty.
