Pumpkin Festival for Camp Sunshine

Hi All,
I am reaching out to you on behalf of the WHS Pumpkin Festival Club, which is in the process of planning Pumpkin Fest 2020. We are excited to once again host the event for the 15th year in Weston in support of Camp Sunshine, a camp for terminally ill children in Casco, Maine.

While this event has previously been run as an in-person festival on the Town Green, due to COVID-19 town and state-wide restrictions and safety concerns, Camp Sunshine has made the decision that all of their fall in-person events will be modified. Therefore, Camp Sunshine has decided that all events this fall will be encompassed into “Pumpkin Fest – The Great Pumpkin Run/Walk/Roll” that will be held virtually from October 18-25th.

As the club advisor, I am excited that Camp Sunshine has worked to create an event that considers important health/safety concerns, while also allowing students and their families to participate in an activity that gets them outside and having fun!

Therefore, the WHS Pumpkin Festival Club has decided to partake in this run/walk event this October to continue our 15 year partnership with Camp Sunshine. The student leaders of the Pumpkin Fest club have been actively working with Camp Sunshine over the past few weeks to plan and publicize the event. We plan to send out information to the Weston community in the next week or so as the walk/run is quickly approaching!

We hope to return Pumpkin Festival to the Town Green next year, but until then, we hope to see you out on the trails or on the streets of Weston as a part of the Great Pumpkin Run/Walk/Roll to support Camp Sunshine!

Thank you all for your consideration and continued support of WHS and Camp Sunshine!

All the best,
