As the winter sports season comes to an end, let’s celebrate our athletes! The swim team had a strong DCL turnout last weekend, girls placing third and boys placing second overall. Go Tide and good luck at sectionals this weekend! Weston boys’ basketball swept Wayland for the second time this week. Be sure to turn out for senior night tonight to support them! Boys’ hockey won 8-1 on Wednesday against Bellingham. Diving had their sectionals yesterday, and three of our girls placed in the top 8! Both alpine ski teams placed second on Wednesday in their regular season. Good job Weston!!!

The Robotics Teams will be entering Qualifier 2 this upcoming Sunday. GNCE Carbon or 18754 has already qualified for States but GNCE Diamond or 22489 is going to try and qualify for states as well.

Next Wednesday will be an hour delay for all grades except Sophomores who have MCAS practice that morning. The ALICE presentation yesterday went very well, and the drills will take place after break. Next Thursday, we will be having a BSU sponsored assembly to celebrate Black History Month in the auditorium, combined with class meetings to catch up on individual class events. Next Friday, we will have a Student Council sponsored assembly in the gym at the end of the day.

In other upcoming events next week, Save the Children Club will be sponsoring a Share the Love bake sale with proceeds going to their cause on February 14. We’ve got a Girl Up Bake Sale on February 13, and Active Minds will be selling chocolate covered strawberries on February 13 to support mental health causes. So bring some money and help support these important causes. Click here for the pre-order form for the Girl Up sale.

Also, the form for the Junior class Krispy Kreme closes February 23rd so get your orders in now!

The Literary Magazine Club is currently seeking submissions of art and writing to publish in our anthology, The Current, at the end of the year. The theme for this year’s anthology is Coming of Age, but submissions of any topic are accepted. All WHS staff, students, and alumni are highly encouraged to submit as it is an amazing opportunity to get your work published and get your voice out there! Submissions can be emailed to thecurrentwhs@gmail.com or sent anonymously through the website below by April 1st. Past submissions can be found on our website!

Finally, back by popular demand, the chess team is sponsoring another lunchtime tournament in the cafeteria. All are invited to participate. Make sure to sign up here before 7pm on Monday, 2/13. All signups after that time will not be able to compete. Remember, all teammates have to fill out the form in order to compete.
