WHS PTO Weekly Reminders and Upcoming Events

Dear WHS Families,

Here is what you need to know for the week ahead.

School Council: Voting Starts Tomorrow (October 2)

We have four fabulous candidates for HS School Council! Please be on the lookout for an email from the district tomorrow with a link to the voting form.

Back-to-School Night (October 5)

Back-to-School Night is this Thursday, October 5, from 7-9pm. Weston High School welcomes all parents of students grades 9-12 for an information-filled evening. This is an excellent opportunity to meet your student’s teachers and staff members, and navigate the same hallways your children walk through everyday. This is also a fantastic way to say hello to Principal Peri and Assistant Principal Bairstow. Attached is a letter with more detailed information about the evening.

Weston PTO Parent Education Event: Coffee and Conversations with LGBTQ+ Parents, Caregivers and Allies (October 6)

Suicide rates among LGBTQ+ youth are halved when their pronouns are respected. Please join Weston PTO Parent Education for our first event of the year “Coffee and Conversations with LGBTQ+ Parents, Caregivers and Allies” this Friday, October 6th @10am at the Weston Public Library. A flyer is attached. Please contact Kat Wilberton kwilberton@yahoo.co.uk and Marian Johnson marian.b.johnson@gmail.com with any questions.

Pumpkin Fest: Volunteers Needed (October 14)

Every year, the Weston High School student body comes together for Pumpkin Fest and volunteers for the benefit of Camp Sunshine, a nonprofit organization supporting terminally-ill children and their families. The event committee is looking for parent volunteers to help grill the food items. Pumpkin Fest is on Saturday, October 14 from 11 AM-2 PM on the town green. If you are able to lend your time for a great cause please sign up here.
Thanks,
Jen Betty and Michelle Callanan
