WHS Theater Company Festival Results

This past Saturday, March 2nd WHS Theater Company attended the preliminary round of the Massachusetts High School State Drama Festival Competition. It was an incredible day hosted by Framingham High School. The students had the chance to perform June July August to an enthusiastic audience of their peers, and to see seven other diverse and compelling shows.
I am very proud to share with you that the production was selected to move on to the next round of competition. This coming Saturday, March 9th, Theater Company will travel to Franklin High School to perform June July August in the semi-final round of the festival competition.
Our students represented Weston exceptionally well in all aspects, from their performances to their ability to connect with other schools and truly embrace the spirit of the drama festival. The festival judges were extremely impressed with the production. Many members our company received individual and group praise for their work, on and off stage, and the judges specifically awarded the following “All Star Company Awards” to our students:
For Excellence in Acting in the role of Atticus: Justin Kirk
For Excellence in Acting in the role of Candice: Brigid Arturi
For Excellence in Acting in the role of Director Radley: Ryan Chao
For Excellence in Scenic Design: Finn Oberg
I am so proud of this group and wanted to share the good news with all of you. If you are interested in seeing June July August, we would love to see you in the audience at Franklin. We perform at 1:30pm on Saturday and tickets can be purchased at the door.
