GNCE Diamond Wins New England Invitational STEM Competition

GNCE Diamond, Weston’s 2nd-year WHS/WMS advanced STEM team, swept the inaugural FIRST New England Invitational on Friday, April
GNCE Diamond emerged as the Winning Alliance Captain of the robot matches and the Inspire/Impact Award Winner, selected by the judges for outstanding engineering design and STEM outreach. This marks the first time in Weston’s history that the school has secured both the top overall judged award and the alliance captain match title at the same event.
In a thrilling preliminary round of matches, Diamond was ranked 1st by just 0.2 points after five preliminary rounds to secure the first pick of alliance partners for the elimination matches. During the final elimination round, they were tied after two matches and delivered their best performance of the day to clinch the title with confetti raining down on them.
