Weston Robotics Headed to FIRST World Championships in Houston

On Tuesday April 15, 2025 Weston GNCE Diamond is heading to the FIRST World Championships in Houston. FIRST Tech Challenge will have four divisions of approximately 64 teams each.

Diamond has spent the last 5 weeks after winning the state championship matches completely reengineering, rebuilding and reprogramming a new version of their robot, their engineering portfolio and presentation.
Teaser of their new design they just posted:
Judging starts Wednesday morning. The opening ceremony is at 4:00pm and preliminary matches start at 5:00pm that day. Matches and judges interviews continue all day Thursday and Friday. The division elimination rounds, judged award ceremonies, then the finals are on Saturday.
It will be exciting to watch this level of engineering talent from around the world working together as alliance partners.
You can see the teams and countries represented now at the following link. This same link will also have the match schedules, live scoring, rankings and video streams starting at 4:00pm on Wednesday:
GNCE’s team number is 22489 and they are in the Jemison Division along with our good friends from Andover High School.  Weston has 13 students from grades 8-12 who are attending. I’m very proud of all 23 teams and 180 students in the program this year – they are all amazing kids!
Go Weston!

GNCE Organized Anarchy did amazing at the inaugural FIRST NE Premier Event and finished 5th in the divisional preliminary rounds.  They were one of 6 alliance captains in the elimination rounds.  They narrowly lost by 4 points (261-265) in round 6 of 10 elimination matches. They are the first team Weston history to advance beyond the MA state championship in their rookie year
