WHS Varsity Golf Team Fundraiser

Brothers Marco and Matteo Buchbinder started the Weston 3 Clubs for Cancer event through Jimmy Fund Golf presented by Mohegan Sun to raise funds to fight the disease that had affected so many of their friends and family, including a neighbor and a teammate’s father who had both recently passed. Joining forces between the varsity golf teams of Wellesley and Weston High School, their inaugural event in 2023 raised over $6,000 for cancer research and care at Dana–Farber Cancer Institute. Interest grew so much that in 2024, Weston High School hosted their own event and raised more than $8,000.
“Supporting Dana–Farber and the Jimmy Fund has meant so much to us, and to all players involved in the tournament. Seeing everyone come together to raise money for such a good cause is really special,” says Marco. “Our event is called 3 Clubs for Cancer because we go out as a team and play nine holes of golf while using only three clubs. It can be pretty funny watching players try to complete the challenge, and it forces you to hit some really difficult shots.”
