Welcome Message

It is with great enthusiasm that I begin my work as the Interim Superintendent of the Weston Public Schools. Over the past eighteen months I relished the experience of working in Weston. During this time, I have learned a great deal about the wonderful community of Weston, the complexities of the schools and how much the system has to offer children and young adults.

One of the hallmarks of the Weston Public Schools is the consistent investment in high quality education for all children. Through my time in Weston I have been provided the opportunity to deepen my understanding of how decisions made at each level within a PreK-12 school district are inextricably intertwined and impact every other level in the district. Moreover, what has become increasingly apparent over my career is how critical consistent communication with families is in all systems, and that certainly holds true here in Weston.

As I enter into this new position I will be reaching out to many of you to gather information about the school system and your experiences, both the things that you cherish and those things that make you wonder.  I will share a survey with families, faculty, staff and high school students and will have focus groups and meetings with many stakeholders across the town including meeting with students in every building.  It is my intention to use the knowledge I already have with the new insights I will gain to create an entry plan, the results of which I will share with you.

All of our children have a right to the highest quality education, one that embraces an individual's unique educational and social needs, as well as talents. Such experiences will allow them to develop the knowledge and skills that will permit them to recognize and share their gifts with others. It will be my goal as the Interim Superintendent to work closely with all of the Weston Public Schools to ensure that every single student with whom we work will continue to receive exceptional experiences that provide them with the very best educational and life opportunities both now, and in their future.
