Welcome Message to Families
Welcome to the Weston Public Schools! I am honored to lead one of the highest performing school districts in the country. While various organizations and media sources have ranked our school district among the best, year-over year, it is Weston's commitment to educating the whole child that inspires me and why I feel that the Weston Public Schools are second to none.
As an educator and parent, I believe in viewing each child as a learner with his or her own pattern and pace of academic, physical, and social development as the core of differentiated instruction. In the short time that I have come to know them, it is clear to me that the administrators and educators in the Weston Public Schools work relentlessly to support, challenge, motivate, and inspire students as they acquire the skills necessary to function and thrive in a competitive, global environment.
As Superintendent of Schools, it is my vision that inspiring innovation and engaging an entrepreneurial mindset is the next level of excellence for the Weston Public Schools. Project-based learning, schools-within-schools, and learning academies, among other innovations and synergies, are examples of how students can extend their learning across disciplines in ways that afford them, and their teachers, the opportunity to collaborate and network to make learning relevant and tangible. Last year's "just-start" initiative was an important cornerstone for the exciting work and innovations upon which we will build. As we replicate the many successes that our educators and students continue to discover through the great innovation that is already present throughout our schools, we remain grounded by our commitment to teaching and learning in an environment that celebrates effort, academic excellence, and creativity.
Building upon an already great school district presents new challenges and opportunities for all of us, and we are eager to get started. With tremendous community support, strong school committee advocacy, and a roster of very accomplished and highly-skilled faculty and staff, all framed by a spirit of innovation and creativity, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2016-2017 school year.
Bob Tremblay, Superintendent
