Sophia Palocz’s project, The Keith Decision: Defending the Constitution, won first place in the Senior Division for an Individual Visit National History DayWebsite at the Massachusetts History Day competition. In addition, she won the National Archives at Boston Award for outstanding use of primary sources. Sophia's achievement qualifies her for the National History Day competition, which will take place June 15-19, 2014

Land's Sake, 90 Wellesley Street, Weston
Join the Land's Sake team in the woods for fresh air and to learn about our forestry program. We will teach you how to use a maul to turn logs into firewood, and create beautiful stacks of firewood that will season all summer long. 
Join us for a couple hours, or the entire afternoon. 
Bring your own maul if you have one. 
Students under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Weston will again host this major event that attracts top athletes from Massachusetts. Last year over 1000 athletes competed. 
Students can receive community service hours.
Parents and students are needed for 2-hour shifts selling admission tickets and T-shirts, manning the concession stand and the grill, directing parking and other jobs.

The rental price of a tuxedo ranges from $69.95 to $134.95, depending on the style.
 $25 to rent black shoes.
$50 deposit due at fitting; balance due when picking up the tuxedo at Formalwear Ltd. in Waltham.
Full payment can be made at the fitting 
Prom tuxedos need to PICKED UP and RETURNED TO Formalwear Ltd , 15 Elm Street, Waltham

Graduation Rentals
Formalwear of Waltham offers a $99 package that includes the required white tuxedo jacket and black pants, cummerbund, and bow tie. Students can also rent a formal shirt for an additional $8 and shoes for additional $20.  Full payment is required at the time of fitting.  Tuxedos will be delivered to students at the graduation rehearsal (or can be picked up by the student at Formalwear, 15 Elm Street, Waltham).
Formalwear will collect rented items at the graduation overnight trip.

WHS receives threatening phone call  The administration has been working with the police department investigating a vague but threatening phone message left on a school phone line by an unknown caller. The message was left after school hours and discovered this morning. The police determined that there was no imminent threat but precautions are being taken including increased police presence on campus. Our school day proceeded as normal per the recommendation of the police department. The police are continuing to investigate and we will keep you apprised as necessary.

A reminder:  Please pick up your child’s medication in the nurse’s office before the last day of school. Any medication left beyond the last day of school will be disposed of.
2014-15 PTO all-school Student Directory & Calendar is being published  Parents who wish to EXCLUDE their child's personal information from the Directory may fill out an Exclusion form.   To list a SECOND ADDRESS fill out a Second Address form  These forms are also available in the main office.  If you do nothing, your listing will be included in the Directory in the standard default format on record at your child’s school.  [Note: If you would like to change or correct errors in last year's directory, login to Infinite Campus  and update your information online, or contact the main office and ask that your information be updated in the school database.
