Thank you to all who supported our fundraising efforts through purchasing a Weston Middle School unity shirt.
The goal of this project was to denounce hate in any form in our schools and to further enable all students and faculty to feel safe and supported while in our building.
We are encouraging anyone who purchased a shirt to wear it on Monday.
We raised $1,000 which will be donated to Right to Be (formally Hollaback).
This company turns the care we have for each other into simple, creative, and effective action. Every day, they train hundreds of people (often for free) to respond to, intervene in, and heal from harassment. Their main goal is to create upstanders in the average student and citizen. They prepare new leaders to create workplaces, schools, and communities around the world that are filled with humanity. During the Covid Pandemic Right to be persevered and continued the movement by creating free online trainings to support the AAPI, Black, LGTBQ+, and Jewish communities, all of whom saw a major uptick in harassment.
