Message from the Principal
Hello Families,
Albert Einstein taught us that “Learning is experience. Everything else is just information.” Our students are immersed in diverse and shared learning experiences every day because of the many wonderful programs and initiatives that happen in the Weston Schools! There are not enough newsletters to share all the exciting happenings! Did you know that since 1967, Weston has participated in METCO, (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity), a voluntary, desegregation, program which brings approximately 167 students, grades K-12, from Boston to Weston’s schools? Congratulations to the Weston METCO program on their 50th anniversary!
Did you know we have a METCO liaison? Riola Lazo, or Ms. Riola, works closely with our Boston students to support them in any way.
Did you know there are various ways to be a part of this program? You can become a family friend or attend a Boston Weston METCO Parent Organization (BWMPO) meeting.
Did you know we have a vernal pool in our very own backyard where the students frequently visit as part of their science units of study?
Did you know that through the combined efforts of Country, Woodland and Field School, thousands of items were donated to Bristol Lodge in Waltham? Thank you for encouraging your children to be part of this charitable initiative.
Wishing you all many magical experiences with family and friends during this holiday season!
Sincerely,
Jennifer G. Faber
