PTO Thanksgiving Food Drive For Bristol Lodge & Homeless Shelter (Nov. 4 – Nov. 25)
Weston’s PTO and elementary schools are holding their annual drive for Waltham’s Bristol Lodge Food Pantry and Homeless Shelter. Children can bring non-perishable donations to the designated collection bins located in outside their school entrance. The goal is to collect at least 2,000 items from each elementary school! Suggested items to donate include canned goods, pasta, boxed juices, cereals, kids’ snacks, condiments, baby food, dried beans and rice. Pull top-lids are preferred and all items must be non-expired. In addition, this year we are offering the option to donate a grocery store gift card (suggested stores are Stop & Shop, Star Market and Market Basket). Please send grocery gift cards to: Theresa Nibi, 126 Sherburn Circle, Weston, MA 02493 or email to shanita.clarke@gmail.com. Please involve your students and give generously! If interested in volunteering, please contact your room parent.
Woodland Sprit Gear Store Closes in 4 Days!
Show your Woodland spirit with stickers, winter hats, apparel and more! Our school spirit store closes on November 8th – check it out!! Proceeds will support ongoing Woodland School family events. Orders will ship directly to homes this year.
Request for Laundry Bags
The winter weather is here (we think)! In order to best manage all the gear, each child will need to bring a Drawstring Laundry Bag to school to store winter jackets, snow pants, boots, gloves, and hats by December 1. Make sure that it is easy to close, washable, an appropriate size for your child to carry, and NOT mesh. An example of a laundry bag can be found here. Please label with child’s name. Laundry bags will be sent home with your child weekly for laundering. Please contact Midge Connolly connollym@weston.org for help with this purchase (remains anonymous). We are also accepting donations of laundry bags for those willing to donate. Please contact Lauren Burns or Courtney Farkas for donations.
