OTHER

  • Don’t forget to send in a laundry bag with your child to assist with managing cold weather gear. More details here
  • Covid-19 dashboard — This dashboard will provide a clearer picture of how the pandemic is affecting the Weston Public Schools community.
  • General State of MA Gift Policy: Please be aware that the state of Massachusetts does not permit teachers to accept personal gifts from an individual student that exceed $50.00 in value, or personal gifts from a group that exceed $150.00 in value.  If the teacher gift from a group is not personal, but intended to benefit the class (e.g., gift certificate to a bookstore, camera ,etc.) there is no limit on the value. Also, donations on behalf of a teacher (WEEFC Stars, PTO Book Program, or other non-profits) are always great ideas. Below is the link to the State Ethics Commission guidance on gift giving for more details: http://www.mass.gov/ethics/gifts-to-public-school-teachers-and-staff.html
  • WPS/Woodland Gift/Food Policy  From Jamy Gaynor, re: teacher/faculty gifts this year: no personal deliveries into the school (it complicates contact tracing) and if gifting food, only individually-wrapped, non-homemade items are permissible.
