Woodland School Council Opening: Woodland School has 1 open seat for a 2 year term open for School Council. This is an important and exciting opportunity for parents to get involved! Every public school in the state is required by law to have a School Council made up of various representatives, including elected parents. According to the Mass. Department of Education, school councils are to assist principals in: adopting educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student performance standards, identifying the educational needs of students attending the school, reviewing the annual school building budget, and formulating a school improvement plan. The school council meets several times during the school year as a group to discuss these topics.

If interested in running for School Council, please send a candidate statement to Meghan Covington – by October 4. School Council Elections will run from October 11th to

October 14th.

Trunk of Treat: We are thrilled to welcome back the elementary school Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 28 from 4:30pm-6pm in the Field School parking lot. Stay tuned for more information on the return of this spooktacular k-5 tradition, including volunteer opportunities!

School Spirit Store: Woodland School Spirit Store Coming Soon! We are updating the store with new Woodland gear which will be on sale in the coming weeks.

If you haven’t already, don’t forget to join or renew your PTO membership.  PTO members have access to the online directory through Membership Toolkit. There’s also a Membership Toolkit app that you can download to your device for access on the go.

Room parents have been assigned and class lists are being finalized. Week 4 communication will come directly from your room parent so be on the lookout!

Have a great week!
