WS PTO Update

Hello, Woodland School Families!

We know there is a lot to stay on top of, especially in these early days of the school year. We wanted to share three quick suggestions:

  1. Read these weekly Woodland PTO emails, which will come out every Sunday. We will include important dates, sign-ups for volunteering, and other relevant information.
  2. Subscribe to the Woodland and WPS calendars here, which will automatically sync with your calendar and keep you up to date on all things Woodland and Weston.
  3. Join the PTO! Your membership as a PTO member also gives you access to Membership Toolkit, an online directory app to make it easy to connect with other families in your child(ren)’s school(s). Confidential financial assistance is available; please contact Mrs. Dickerson.

Best, Emily & Alexi  Woodland School PTO Co-Chairs

A Zoom link will be emailed closer to the date by Mrs. Dickerson for families that are unable to attend in person. In an effort to be more environmentally friendly and reduce waste, parent coffees this year will be BYO, unless otherwise noted. We encourage you to bring your own coffee or tea in a reusable container!

We hope that you can join us on Thursday, 9/26 at 4:30 – 6pm for a picnic with your Woodland friends and families. Grab a picnic blanket, pack a picnic, and meet us on the Woodland School field. This will be a time for students to play outside of school and families to socialize with one another as we kick off the start of the school year together. Don’t forget any balls or outdoor activities your students may want to play. Kona Shaved Ice will be available for purchase.

Book your babysitters! Save the date to come gather with fellow Woodland parents at our upcoming adult only Parent Community Night Out – Wednesday, October 11th from 6-9pm at Lookout Farm in Natick. More details to come soon. Thank you to the Mofenson Family for hosting!

On Saturday, September 30, the Weston Education Enrichment Foundation Committee (WEEFC) will be hosting a fall celebration to raise funds for enrichment programming at all five Weston Public Schools. This outdoor, tented event will take place on the Field School field and feature food trucks, live music, and an auction. If you didn’t get a ticket to the now sold-out event, you can add your name to the waitlist by filling out this Google form, and you will be contacted if tickets become available. Visit the event website for more details, and be sure to follow along on Instagram for event updates and info on what WEEFC is doing in our schools.

Get your Wildcat Croc charms to show your school spirit and support all five Weston schools! Click here for more information and to place your order (while supplies last). Visit our pop-up shop this week on Wednesday 9/13 from 3:00-4:15pm outside by the Field School basketball courts to pick up your charms. You can also pick up your order at the WEEFC table at your school’s upcoming Back to School Night.

PTO membership provides parents and guardians the opportunity to express interest in helping out with a variety of events which happen throughout the school year. PTO membership does not require volunteer time, but the hope is that all families in the District will choose to join or renew their membership to support the work the PTO does in our schools on behalf of our children, faculty, staff, administration, and you, our parents and guardians! Your PTO membership also offers access to an online directory so you can connect with other families in your child(ren)’s school(s). PTO membership also keeps you more informed about special events, volunteer opportunities, or other important information to keep you up-to-speed on what’s happening!

If you have any questions about membership, or your current membership status, please contact the PTO’s Membership Co-Chairs Theresa Nibi and Jaclyn McDonald.
