Help Keep School Community Healthy – Message from Health Services

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we return from February vacation, the Weston School Nurses are asking for your assistance in helping to keep the school community healthy.

If your child is not feeling well before school, please check your child’s temperature.  A child should not be sent to school with a fever.  A child with a temperature of 100.0 degrees F or greater (37.7 degrees C) will be sent home.  A child must be fever free without fever reducing medication, such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) or acetaminophen (Tylenol) for 24 hours before she/he returns to school.

If your child is actively suffering from diarrhea/vomiting they should stay at home.

Strep Throat

If your child has a positive throat culture, he/she should stay home until they have been on antibiotics for 24 hours.

For FLU information:

If your child will be absent, please call the absence line 781-786-5299 if you are the parent of an elementary student.  For the Middle School, call the main office 781-786-5600, for the High School please notify the attendance office 781-786-5810.

Please let your child’s School Nurse know if your child has been diagnosed with Flu, including type if known, and Strep throat.

Remember, the best way to prevent illness is by washing hands often with soap and water.

Thank you for your cooperation.  If you have any questions please call your School Nurse.
