To celebrate World Language Week there are various activities around the district to help spread our enthusiasm for culture and language. Students across the district will participate in the following:
For High School students – A presentation by current students and graduates on their experiences living and working abroad, the World Language Fair to showcase student work, and a presentation by a musician from Puerto Rico in which he discusses his music and his path to the Berklee College of Music.
For Middle School students– A presentation for Latin students on life in Ancient Rome, a visit to the World Language Fair to see student work and interact in different languages, and lessons to learn some salsa dance moves.
For Elementary students– A Mariachi band playing lunchtime music at Woodland and Country Schools and a presentation on Chinese culture, language and music at Field School.
We hope students enjoy the week and the special events we have planned for them!
Many thanks to WEEFC for supporting World Language education and for making these presentations possible.
