Letter From Superintendent Connolly (March 27, 2020)

Dear Weston School Community,

We have just completed our first seven days of Weston School from Home. We want to thank all of you for your patience and collaboration in this process. We have learned a lot over the past week and are continually making adjustments to make the learning experience better for students and families.

Now that the Governor has extended our time away from traditional schooling until May 4, 2020, we need to plan further. We opened Weston School from Home very rapidly after schools were closed with little preparation time so that students could get “back to school” in short order. However, In order to sustain quality educational opportunities for all of our students for the additional month and make some necessary changes, Wednesday, April 1, 2020 will be a professional development day for faculty and staff. On that day, teachers will be working in departments and grade level teams to plan for the next four weeks. Teachers will not be posting lessons or be available to students as they will be deep in their own learning, development and planning.

Thank you for your partnership and continued support. We feel that we are off to a good start and that we will continue to get better at this new way of teaching and interacting with your children. The professional development day next Wednesday, April 1 will allow all educators to continue this most important work. I wish you and your families a safe and healthy weekend.

Sincerely,

Dr. Midge Connolly
