Weekly Update #3 on Interim Superintendent Search

Dear Weston School Community,

Below is the promised, brief, weekly update provided on behalf of the interim superintendent screening subcommittee, which consists of Field School Principal Dan Green, School Committee Chair Ken Newberg, and School Committee Member Attia Linnard.

Based on criteria discussed at the School Committee’s meeting on March 13, the subcommittee has since reviewed the 24 applications we had received, conducted remote first round interviews, and then yesterday we completed second round interviews, in person, at Weston Town Hall. After due consideration to each candidate, the subcommittee unanimously voted to offer “finalist status” to several candidates. These candidates have until Friday to decide whether to move forward to the public portion of the search.

Dr. Green will announce the finalists at the next School Committee meeting on Monday, April 3 in the Weston High School Auditorium. The School Committee will then dissolve the screening subcommittee with appreciation, and finalize the scope and schedule for the public portion of the search with an aim to have the appointment, subject to successful contract negotiations, concluded by the end of April.
