Dear Weston School Community,
I am pleased to welcome Shannon Sheldon, our new DEI Coordinator, to the District.
Shannon comes to us from the Brockton Public Schools where she spent over 15 years as an elementary teacher for English learners and as an instructional coach. Her passion for improving equity and access to all students, increasing diversity in the workforce, and inclusion of all backgrounds and people in her environments is only matched by her dedication to her students.
A Massachusetts Teacher of the Year Semifinalist (SY’22-23), she has been known to burst out in song at the drop of a hat or bust a move just for fun in the hopes of creating energetic, engaging, and welcoming spaces for all members of our learning community. She hopes to share her commitment to supporting students and the community through multiculturalism, advocacy, belonging, and justice with others as she steps into her new role as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinator.
Outside of school, she is a resident of Bridgewater, MA, where she lives with her husband Robert and their three young boys: Eli (8), Cole (6), and Jude (3).
Please join me in welcoming Ms. Sheldon to Weston.
All my best,
Dr. Karen (KZ) Zaleski
Interim Superintendent
