June Message From Principal Maguire
Dear Country School Families,
Wow! It is hard to believe that we are in our final 3 weeks of the school year. It has been a wonderful year filled with learning and growing. We leave the year with many happy memories and accomplishments to celebrate. Country School is a truly special place and I feel lucky to be welcomed into such a caring community.
As we wrap up the school year, we prepare to say farewell to some highly respected faculty. Beth Harrington is heading off into retirement bliss after an outstanding 31-year career. She leaves behind a true legacy and will be dearly missed. We expect her to visit often and know she will forever remain a part of the Country Community!!
Gil Davis has accepted a 4th-grade teaching position at the Hastings Elementary School in Lexington, MA. Gil has been a valued member of the Country School faculty for the past ten years. He moves on to join a new district and begin his journey towards becoming an administrator. We will miss him and wish him the best of luck! He has an amazing career ahead!
As enrollment shifts each year, so do the sections at each grade level. Next year we anticipate 3 sections of kindergarten, 3 sections of 1st grade, 4 sections of 2nd grade, and 4 sections of 3rd grade. The shifts in sectioning provide an excellent opportunity for teachers to grow as professionals and strengthen their skills teaching different levels. I am excited to share that Mr. Glode will move to 3rd grade next year. He will make an excellent addition to the 3rd-grade team. When a 2nd-grade teacher is chosen to fill the vacancy, I will be sure to communicate this to families. If things shift over the summer due to enrollment, I will be sure to communicate that as well. Placement letters will be sent home in mid-August.
I hope you all enjoy a wonderful summer filled with adventures big and small. I am excited to wrap up a fantastic year, and I look forward to another great year ahead.
Erin Maguire, Principal
