Taste Test Tuesday will be on November 13th. Students will have the opportunity to try Quinoa Salad with Vegetables. This recipe uses black beans and was submitted by Country School parent Mary Antaki. Weston Public Schools participates in the National School Lunch Program. As such, we are required to offer students beans and legumes at least once per week. By offering beans and other legumes in a variety of different preparations, we hope to encourage students’ familiarity with and preference for this protein-packed, sustainable source of fiber and B vitamins. In September, students tasted fennel from Land’s Sake Farm. The reviews were decidedly mixed, but Country School has many students who are eager to try new things. While there are currently no plans to feature fennel on future lunch menus, it was a great start to a year of adventurous eating.
