March 19, 2019/in Country Elementary School, School Newsletter /by shayj

We are delighted to welcome Matt de la Pena, Newbery Medal-winning author of Last Stop On Market Street and Love, as the 2019 Ben Sandalls Memorial Speaker.

Please mark your calendars for Tuesday, April 9th. We are hosting two sessions at Woodland, both of which will be to combined Country & Woodland students.
The presentation schedule is as follows:
9-9:45am – Kindergarten and First Grades
10:15-11am – Second and Third Grades
Book orders will be available for purchase and signing through Wellesley Books – please see the order form below, and paper copies have gone home via backpack to all students. Orders are due Tuesday, March 26th.
Kerri Majors, Chair of the visiting author program through the Creative Arts committee of the PTO, worked together with Kath Odell and Lucille Beeth to bring Matt to students at Country & Woodland Schools. His books and presentation feature messages of tolerance, inclusiveness and persistence. Matt is a New York Times bestselling author and more information can be found at his website http://mattdelapena.com/
Any questions please contact Emma Kwon, Elementary Library Specialist.
