3RD GRADE MARCH MATHNESS

Please join us for a 3RD GRADE March Mathness Event on March 29th from 6:00-7:00 in the CS cafeteria. This event was planned with parents’ requests of how to engage their third grader at home in math. The goal is to have as close to all third grade families attend as possible!

The format will be students and parents moving together from station to station. Families can go in any order and any station (so more free-flowing). Students will be the teachers at each station and will teach their families! At each station there will be sheets and different representations of problem solving strategies for students and families to reference. At each table there will be number nuggets, warm-ups, and problems that parents and students can work on together similar to what we do in class.

See the flyer for more information.

Please RSVP so we can plan accordingly!

FRACTAL FAIR – Hosted by the Math Dept and HS Honors Precalculus Students

Due to the weather, the Fractal Fair originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 14, has been rescheduled to Tuesday, March 21, in the WHS library from 6:30-8pm.

Come find out what a fractal is and so much more! The fractal fair is hosted by the math department but run by all the Honors Precalculus students at Weston. There will be 28 groups presenting their projects on a wide range of topics related to fractals. The fair will be appropriate for all kids elementary aged and up, so bring your other children, invite extended family members, uncles, aunts, grandparents, everyone you know who might be curious about fractals, math, and our world. Please mark your calendars and set aside the night for a time of exploration, learning, and innovation.
