The Educational Technology & Library Media Office works to support the mission of the Weston Public Schools by integrating technologies into management operations, providing library media materials and support, enabling curriculum tools for students and staff, and empowering community through communications.

We implemented technology to give our students the tools, skills, and experience to learn and work authentically in today’s society.  We do not live in a world where technology is optional. Any career endeavor, any college experience, any aspect of navigating modern society requires the use of technology tools.  To thrive in these endeavors requires more than just the use of tools, rather skillful application and cognitive partnership with the resources leveraged within that domain.  Digital tools are a means to an end, and our “end” is to ensure our students are digitally literate.

The Educational Technology & Library Media Office is comprised of library staff, technology integration staff, network infrastructure staff, and desktop support staff.

Dr. Neil Trahan, Assistant Superintendent of Technology and Operations
Weston Public Schools 

Dr. Neil Trahan is an accomplished educational leader and technology expert with extensive experience in K-12 education. His career is defined by a commitment to leveraging technology to enhance teaching and learning, improve operational efficiency, and drive innovation in schools. 

As the former Director of Technology at Grafton Public Schools, Dr. Trahan led a team of technology professionals to ensure the seamless integration of technology into all aspects of the district’s academic programing and operations. He worked closely with central office and district leadership to develop and implement strategic plans that include technology and align with the district’s educational goals. Among other things, his responsibilities encompassed overseeing network infrastructure upgrades, managing hardware and software purchasing and deployment, as well as providing professional development opportunities for faculty and staff to maximize the impact of technology in their practice.

Dr. Trahan’s deep understanding of technology in K-12 settings is rooted in his diverse professional experiences. He previously served as the Director of Curriculum, Data and Technology at the Central MA Special Education Collaborative and the Director of Technology for the Oxford Public Schools in Massachusetts. Dr. Trahan’s commitment to educational technology is also evident in his work as a consultant. He has partnered with numerous school districts to assess their assistive technology needs, develop comprehensive plans, and implement innovative solutions to support students with a wide range of disabilities. His ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable strategies has earned him a reputation as a trusted advisor to school leaders.

Dr. Trahan has earned both a CAGS and a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from the University of New England and an MBA from Fitchburg State University.
