Weston Public Library 2018 Summer Reading Program
Registration for the Summer Reading Program begins Saturday, June 16th for all children entering Grades 1 – 6. Register online! Just go to our webpage (http://www.WestonLibrary.org/just-for-kids) and follow the directions! Younger children (preschool through Kindergarten) can join our Young Readers Program. Middle and High School (Grades 6 – 12) can register for the Teen Reading Program.
What is the Reading Program? For each book you read, enter the title and author in your Libraries Rock! Online Summer Reading Log. Earn prizes for your book totals; earn bigger prizes by completing Reading Challenges. Each time you complete a challenge, you earn a chance at winning one of our Summer Grand Prizes! See all the prizes in the Summer Readers Display Case. If you participated in the program, you can join us the last week of August for the Summer Reading Celebration and choose a book to keep. Enter your reading starting June 18th; prizes start July 2nd.

Summer Contest! Check out our Summer Libraries Rock! Guessing Jar! When you sign up for the program, you get one guess at how many items are in the jar. Earn another guess each time you earn a point in your Online Reading Log. The closest guess wins, and the winner takes it all home–the jar, all the candy, and the special surprises in the center–after the Summer Reading Celebration.
The Vacation Craft Room will be a weekly feature of the program. Each week in the Craft Room, you’ll find a new craft, based on the Libraries Rock! Summer Reading theme, set up at the Craft Tables. Stop by any hour, any day and exercise your creative talents!
“Libraries Rock!” bookmarks with book lists, plus a recipe or craft to try at home, will be available during the summer. They will also be posted at BellaOnBooks.wordpress.com, the Weston Library Youth Services book blog.
Programs for Kids: Look for special performances for all ages throughout July and August! Get a calendar at the desk or check our Event Calendar (at www.westonlibrary.org) so you don’t miss our special Summer Activities! Look for library storytimes, animal shows, puppet shows, art and craft workshops and other special programs throughout July and August.
