FS PTO Update

Dear Field School families,

We hope you had a great weekend! This week is Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week at Field School, and we are looking forward to celebrating the incredible Field School team, who make such a difference in the lives of our fourth and fifth grade students each and every day. Many thanks to those who have donated items from our Amazon wishlist and/or contributed to this Friday’s appreciation luncheon. If you would like to do so but haven’t had the chance yet, it’s not too late! Donations can be made via Venmo to Laura Wilson (@lollygolly with the last four digits of 9587 for confirmation) with the memo “FS Appreciation Week.” Any excess funds collected will go towards the additional appreciation efforts that we have planned for this week (see below for details). Thank you so much for your continued support! We couldn’t do this without you.

As you know, this is a busy time of year! We encourage you to please read the following announcements , along with a few reminders:

  1. Field School Faculty/Staff Appreciation Week
  2. Middle School Transition Night – Thursday
  3. K-12 Art Show Opening
  4. Field School Spring Concert
  5. Important Dates
  6. Weston PMC Kids Ride (May 7)
  7. Register for Kids’ Night Out / Childcare for Town Meeting – Note Location Update! (May 8)
  8. WEEFC’s 2023 Fall Fundraiser – Call for Auction Items & Sponsorships

Don’t forget, the Weston Town Meeting is coming up next Monday, May 8, and we hope to see many of our Field School families there. The school budget will be voted on that evening so participation from parents is essential. Please see below for a child care opportunity from the Weston High School Student Council that will make your attendance easier–and fun for your student(s) too! Please also note the location update of Weston Middle School.

Have a wonderful week, and please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions.

Best, Laura Wilson & Taylor McIntire Field School PTO Co-Chairs

1. This week is Field School Faculty/Staff Appreciation Week! Here is a brief overview of what we have planned for our beloved Field School faculty and staff:

  • Monday – Room Service: Last week, the Field School team had the opportunity to fill out a “room service” form, and the supplies they requested will be delivered to them tomorrow. We will also be stocking the break room with snacks and refreshments for little pick-me-ups throughout the week. Thanks to all who donated these items from our Amazon wishlist!
  • Tuesday – Room Parent Day: Our wonderful and creative Room Parents have made plans for their individual classroom teachers and aides. We encourage you to support their efforts if you are able to do so.
  • Wednesday – Ice Cream Sundaes: An ice cream sundae bar with all the fixings will be waiting for our fabulous faculty and staff after the early dismissal.
  • Thursday – Thank you for helping us grow! With Arbor Day having just passed, each member of the Field School team will receive a seed packet to show our appreciation for the seeds of knowledge they have planted this year and the ways they have helped our students grow.
  •  Friday – Lunch Break: We will finish out the week with our annual Faculty and Staff Appreciation Luncheon. This year’s lunch will be catered by Anna’s Taqueria. If you would like to contribute, donations can still be made via Venmo to Laura Wilson (@lollygolly with the last four digits of 9587 for confirmation) with the memo “FS Appreciation Week.”
  • Please note, we have rescheduled our Bus Driver Appreciation Breakfast at the Bus Barn for a date TBD in the coming weeks. We are so fortunate to have amazing bus drivers as part of our school community. We look forward to collaborating with our friends at Country and Woodland School to recognize and celebrate them soon.

2. Middle School Transition Night: Parents of fifth grade (soon-to-be sixth grade!) students are invited to attend a presentation on the transition to middle school this Thursday, May 4 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Weston Middle School Library.

4. Field School Spring Concert: Fourth and fifth grade band, orchestra, and chorus students will be performing in the Field School Spring Concert on Wednesday, May 17 at 8:45-9:45 a.m. in the Field School Gym. Concert dress includes: blank pants and a white dress shirt. Band and orchestra students also need to bring their instrument, music, and a folding music stand. Please also note that after-school rehearsals will last through the concert date.  There will be no more after-school rehearsals after the concert, but the in-school band classes will continue through the end of the school year.

Whether you’ve got a connection to spa services, lawn care, destination getaways or something in between, we want to hear from you! Interested in helping plan the event? Our next meeting will be Friday, May 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Case House, and everyone is welcome. Please contact Steph Corcoran with auction/event ideas and Katie Strohacker if your business might be interested in sponsoring the event.
