Watch the WHS Chorus Sing for the Boston Red Sox

Since the beginning of the year, Weston’s High School Chorus has had the good fortune to participate in some wonderful and memorable experiences, thanks to the tenacity of their director, Dr. Thérèse Provenzano.
In March, the chorus sang the national anthem before the start of the Boston Celtics vs. Phoenix Suns game on the parquet floor in the TD Garden.  They were one of only four groups invited to perform the anthem and the only high school selected for this opportunity, for the entire basketball season.
In April, the chorus again performed the national anthem – this time in historic Fenway Park.  Prior to the start of the second home game, during which the World Champion Boston Red Sox played against the Milwaukee Brewers, the chorus assembled on center field.  Thanks to the large projection screen and some strategically placed microphones, the students’ voices and images were projected throughout the ball field.
One of their final performances as a group took place in the high school gym for the annual Orchestra and Chorus Pops Concert.  Weston High’s Chorus, Concert and Jazz Choirs, and the Chamber and Symphony Orchestras each performed between one and four numbers.  Audience members seated at cabaret-styled tables were served cheese and/or dessert platters by a wait staff of 7th and 8th grade Middle School music students.
