26 WHS Students Selected for Music Festival

26 Weston High School students were selected to participate in the Eastern Massachusetts Sr. District Music Festival.  The program is offered by the Massachusetts Music Educators Association  as an enrichment opportunity providing a musical experience to talented young people. The students auditioned and were selected to perform in the Senior District Concert Band, Jazz Band, Orchestra and Chorus.  They will rehearse with guest conductors and then perform in a concert to be held at Boston Latin School in Boston, MA on Saturday, January 6, 2018.

Selected for Orchestra were Seniors Thomas Yu (Cello), Neha Joshi (Bassoon), Ariel Silverman (French Horn), and Timothy Yu (Trumpet); Junior Emily Kim (Violin); and Sophomores Heather Lee (Cello), Sanghoo Lee (Viola), Alexandra Carpenter, Joanne Lee, and Joy Mahoney (all on Violin) and Jaehyo Namkung (Bassoon).

Selected for Chorus were Seniors Terence Mullany, Samuel Rodgers, Nathan Strauss and Grace Carter; Juniors Hannah Brown, Vincent Rougeau, and Gillian Reeder; and Sophomores Helen Townsend, and Kayla Silverman.

Selected for Band were Seniors Noah Hooper (Bassoon) and Julie Jesurum (Trumpet); Juniors Michael Du (Baritone Saxophone) and Zachary Zhu (Clarinet); and Sophomores Austin Gu (Bassoon) and Albert Wu (Clarinet).
