WHS Students Participated in the US Physics Team Exam

physics team logoOn January 23, seven Weston students took a grueling physics test that serves as the first of the two selection exams for the US Physics Team. About 5600 of the best physics students in the country took the test. The test contains 25 questions, and the median score was about 8.5! Only about 400 students advanced in the second round. The cut-off score to advance was 14.

WHS students did quite well. Six out of seven beat the median score. Also, one student (Andrew Yao) has advanced into the second round of the selection process. Making the “top 400” is a great achievement, and we should all congratulate Andrew.

 Congratulations to all who participated!
